Today at Tea Time we enjoy a Yunnan black tea pressed as a mini bricks. This way of presenting the tea was widely used in the past to transport occupying the smallest possible space. We are therefore faced with a classic tea in all senses.

The first impression is a soft aroma. Without having so much presence, but nice. What is most striking is the way it is presented, typical in China a long time ago.

The form of this tea is pressed, squared, roughly the size of a thumb. Once the infusion is done you can see the size of the leaves, which in this case are small.

The mini bricks fall apart once tou pour water into the teapot, as if they were a lump of sugar. In this case (black tea), the infusion is prepared with water at a low temperature for 4-5 minutes.

This tea of Yunnan has a very different flavor entrance, still strong at first with a very well balanced bitter taste, which disappears without disturbing at all as you enjoy it.

Yunnan teas are great companions for tea’s afternoons, and although this particular is different in flavor and aroma, is not an exception. For other qualities, as that first taste sensation that makes you pay attention to it, which gently disappears until you return to take another sip of this classic chinese tea.
