The English newspaper “The Telegraph” has published the results of an investigation carried out by the Tea Research Association in India, about adding milk to tea.
The aforementioned study is based on the results obtained in relation to which consuming tea helps to reduce weight, since it contains a whole series of compounds that inhibit the absorption of fat by the organism. This statement was also endorsed by Japanese researchers, who published in the Journal of Nutrition the results of research conducted with laboratory rats.
In spite of this, the fact of adding milk cancels these effects, due to the proteins that the own milk carries. At the root of these claims, the same team is working on trying to develop new varieties of tea with more levels of polyphenols than the current ones, in order not to lose their properties even being taken with milk.
Tea with milk is one of the most typical drinks in the UK, which is why researchers say that, despite being one of the countries that consume more tea on the planet, they do not take advantage of 100% Beneficial properties for health.
In fact, these results were also validated by researchers at the Functional Food Center of Oxford Brookes University, who added that skimmed milk inhibited to a greater extent the effects of tea, even more than semi-skimmed or whole milk.
