The scientific journal Nutrients published an article under the title “Consumption of green tea affects cognitive dysfunction in the elderly: Pilot study”.

The article collects the results of a study carried out by Japanese scientists, who followed the evolution of a group of elderly people who were given two grams of tea daily for a few months.

The final results of the study improved significantly, based on the established evaluation method, the Mini-Mental State Examination Japanese version (MMSE-J).

The research team concludes that this result suggests that the consumption of green tea may be effective in improving cognitive function or reducing the progression of cognitive dysfunction; however, it also states that large-scale, long-term controlled studies are needed to further clarify the effect.
