The online newspaper Consalud, considered the most influential in the health sector in our country, recently echoed the results of a study published in the scientific journal ‘Arteriosclerosis Thrombosis and Vascular Biology’.
This study demonstrates the health benefits of flavonoids, natural substances present in various foods.
Based on the follow-up of 881 people, it was found that they were much less likely to have large accumulation of abdominal aortic calcification (CAA) if they consumed a high level of flavonoids in their diet.
Among the flavonoid-rich foods, black tea was the main source of total flavonoids in the study cohort and was also associated with a significantly lower likelihood of extensive CAA.
