In the birthplace of tea, the oldest tea house in China is in Pengzhen, near Chengdu.

Known as the Guanyin Pavilion, 观音阁 (“Guānyīn Gé” in Chinese), it retains its authentic atmosphere, attracting both locals, such as farmers and elderly people who visit it regularly, and tourists interested in its history and aesthetics. Its opening hours are interesting, from 5 am to 6 pm, open every day of the year.

It is interesting to highlight the popular character that emerges from its photos. It is not at all an elitist temple, but rather the opposite. A living testimony of the tea culture in Sichuan.

This tea house has also been a meeting point for photographers and lovers of traditional culture who seek to capture the unique atmosphere of a space where generations meet and a unique tea experience is transmitted in China.
