While we are on vacation, at Fresh Chinese Tea we are going to publish some cold tea recipes. In this case we go with a green tea seasoned with melon.

Well, in order to balance the taste of green tea with a little bit of fruit, which is the best natural sweetener. In this case the fruit that we are going to use is the melon.

As we have said before, taking it cold still enjoy the many qualities of green tea.

This recipe that we show you is for a jar of a liter approximately, although you can calculate the ingredients for a single person.

Well, let’s get our green tea cold.

Ingredients

• Sencha green tea
• Ice, whether in cubes or chopped
• A few pieces of melon
• Sweetener (optional)
• A liter of water

Preparation

We begin by heating the water, removing it just when it is about to boil. We prepared the infusion with the tea, pouring the water into a jar with about four tablespoons of Sencha. Let it infuse about four minutes and let it stand.

On the other hand, we prepare the melon, cutting it in small squares. We add them to the infusion and pour it in the blender. We save few pieces of melon to to add it later.

We beat the tea with the melon, and pour it to the jar. Add ice, along with the melon squares we have saved. Remove it and let it just cool down for a while in the fridge. And you are ready to enjoy it !! The melon is a natural sweetener that fits very well with the green Sencha, but if you want you can add sugar or saccharine, to your liking.
