Hi. Today we dedicate our session to the variety of white tea Bai Hao Yin Zhen. In Europe it is known as “silver needle tea“, due to the shape of its leaves, which are elongated and narrow, of a large and sharp size, another of its hallmarks.

We prepare the infusion in a typical Gaiwan, adding about three grams of tea. Then add water to about 75 degrees, to make the infusion for about three minutes.

Bai Hao Yin Zhen is cultivated in the Chinese province of Fujian, the cradle of white tea, under privileged conditions in terms of humidity and fog.

Once ready, it’s time to enjoy its flavor and aroma. The color of the infusion is a pale yellow, and it has come out clean, thanks to quality leaves. The flavor is soft, delicate, with a fresh touch and a pleasant aroma with floral reminiscences.

Bai Hao Yin Zhen holds up very well to go adding water several times, maintaining its flavor. As we enjoy, its aroma subtlely invades the room, rounding off a very good tea session. And the aftertaste that leaves in the mouth is fresh and soft.

White tea varieties are highly appreciated in China, thanks to its antioxidant effects, being the variety that has most of all. In fact, women often take it to help prevent aging.

In short, this white tea Bai Hao Yin Zhen is fresh and elegant aroma and flavor, leaving an aftertaste in the mouth as subtle as pleasant. Without strident nuances, but with good presence. One more option on the side of unfermented teas, still not very well known here.

Well, that’s all for today. You have a video version of this entry on our Youtube channel. Also, if you are looking for where to buy white tea in Barcelona, we are at your disposal in our tea house in Barcelona and in our online tea shop. Thank you very much and see you soon.
