Hello, today in our tea session we enjoyed a variety of Pu Erh top grade, called Gongting Pu Erh Royal. Pu Erh red tea has a great reputation, both in China and abroad. In fact, it was a tea reserved for the imperial family for a long time, given its health benefits.
The first thing that attracts attention is the size of its leaves, smaller than normal. Also striking is the aroma, in which the typical earthy smell of Pu erh red tea is much more subtle. We prepare the infusion using a typical porcelain chinese Gaiwan. For this variety of tea we use about three-four grams, and we add water at about 90 degrees to let the infusion for about five minutes.
The typical aroma of red tea begins to fill the room, as the infusion is already prepared. The color of the infusion is dark, and it has come out very clean, signal that the leaves are of quality.
The taste is unmistakable, dense, but in this particular case very well balanced. In fact it has a lot of presence, but without being too strong, and without any trace of bitter taste. The leaves hold up very well to refill the Gaiwan with water as we enjoy this Gongting Pu Erh Royal. In fact, it does not lose any color, flavor or aroma.
This persistence of its qualities makes this red tea the perfect companion for an afternoon tea. We insist again on how clean the infusion is, due to the quality of the selected leaves.
In resume, this Gongting Pu Erh Royal is a superior quality red tea, and it shows in the elegance of its flavor, the attractiveness of its aroma and how well it supports one infusion after another. Hats off to this tea, without any doubt.
