Time magazine echoed a study published in the British Journal of Nutrition, which details the results of a study related to tea consumption and blood pressure reduction.

The authors of this study analyzed the participants 25 times randomly, a standard in scientific research, to be able to demonstrate this association.

In the short term, no clear results were obtained, although after 12 weeks the results were really significant. The reduction was 2.6 mmHg systolic and 2.2 mmHg diastolic. The people who took green tea showed better results than those who consumed black tea.

This reduction, especially in systolic pressure, means reducing the risk of heart attack by 8 percent, 5 percent in coronary heart disease and 4 percent in terms of any cause of death.

This improvement is related to the effect of tea consumption on making blood flow more freely, due to the large amount of antioxidants it contains.
