Today in our tea session we enjoy one of the most famous green teas in China: Longjing. The aroma is very good, with fresh grass nuances. The leaves are flat and of medium-large size with imperial picking: two leaves and one stem, a sign of quality and that has been hand picked.
We prepare the infusion using about three grams of tea, which we pour into a glass Gaiwan. Then add the water at a moderate temperature, about 70 – 80 degrees, for a short infusion of time, about 3 minutes at most.
Thanks to the glass Gaiwan we can enjoy the infusion of the leaves of this Longjing green tea. If you really like tea, it is a beautiful thing to see, as the leaves slowly sink.
Once ready, the color of the infusion is a pale yellow, which has come out clean thanks to quality leaves. The taste and aroma are very straight, reminiscent of fresh grass.
The aftertaste left in the mouth is persistent and pleasant, and this Longjing holds very well to go on adding water for several times. A great green tea, highly recommended not only for its quality, but also to be able to have a perspective of the aroma and taste that has to have a quality green tea. In the past we called him “Mr green tea”, and we reaffirm, no doubt.
A tea with a great reputation for a long time, considering that its name was given by an emperor hundreds of years ago, and here it is still. A classic, summarizing it in one sentence.
Well, that’s all for today. You have a video version of this post (including subtitles in English, Catalan and Spanish) on our Youtube channel, by clicking here.
