Today’s Tea Time is dedicated to the Tie Guan Yin, a popular tea in China, which comes from the province of Fujian. This tea is of the Oolong variety, which is characterized by half-fermentation. We can say that this particular Oolong tea is somewhere between green tea and black tea.

The aroma of this tea is really intense and enjoyable, usually striking when first discovered. The leaves are rolled, and open widely when making the infusion.

The flavor is like the aroma, and it leaves a pleasant long-lasting taste in the mouth. It’s not subtle at all, but the opposite. In this case this Tie Guan Yin Oolong tea is more green than black, as far as taste is concerned.

I personally love it, and it has been my main tea for a long time. I will never stop recommending it, as it has the density in the flavor and aroma of black tea but with fresh floral aftertaste of a green tea. As evidenced in the title, the best of both worlds, without any doubt.
